A Total "slimebag" Wins Bodog Poker Sunday $100k Tourney

Proving the old adage that nice guys do in fact finish last, "slimebag" goes home with $25,000 first-place prize in Bodog Poker's Sunday $100k guaranteed online poker tournament.

More big names came out to compete last night for the $25,000 first-place prize cash in Bodog Poker's weekly $100k Guaranteed online poker tournament. After battling through the field of 828 entrants, notable internet guns Thayer "THAY3ER" Rasmussen and Blake "BallaB13" Cahail and Bodog leaderboard fixture "dannenmann" all collided at the final table.

The first departure from the final nine was "BallaB13" when he fell victim to "dannenmann"'s small pocket pair, losing his race to the river. Not to long after that hand, "THAY3R" claimed the chip lead and would maintain it all the way to heads-up play against "slimebag". "THAY3R" entered the head to head match with an almost 3 to 1 chip advantage, but "slimebag" held on and slowly chipped away the lead eventually emerging victorious.

This is the first major victory at Bodog for "slimebag", who we should expect to see more often with his bankroll significantly expanded.

Here are the full final table results and payouts:
1) slimebag - $25,000
2) Thayer "THAY3R" Rasmussen - $14,000
3) monkai - $9,000
4) Dannenmann - $6,500
5) juuuicy - $5,400
6) renegade440 - $4,400
7) cast - $3,400
8) Bulletman99 - $2,400
9) Blake "BallaB13" Cahail - $1,550

Titan Poker Announces Online Tournament

Titan Poker has announced that it plans to stage the European Championship of Online Poker (ECOOP) 2007 later this year with a guaranteed pot of $2.5 million.

The Playtech-powered site operates on the iPoker Network and said that ECOOP is set to be the biggest online event this winter. The event will start at the end of November and run for ten consecutive days.

Titan Poker said that it would stage one significant cash giveaway each day during the ten-day tournament series, culminating in a one million dollar Main Event on December 9.

In addition to cash prizes, winners of each event will also be awarded a special ECOOP bracelet, similar to those awarded at the World Series of Poker and, as an extra bonus, the top 50 players at the entire event are to be entered into a $50,000 free-roll tournament to be staged the day after the Main Event.

Titan Poker stated that players could buy in to the ECOOP directly or qualify through ongoing sit and go tournaments and multi-table satellites.

Titan Poker currently guarantees over six million dollars in monthly tournament prizes and is currently staging the Titan Poker World Challenge where just 50 players will compete for the top prize of a Porsche Cayman S sports car or a share of a $50,000 prize pool.
